CPW vs TEAM KAWAN YUSOF

Sunday 20-04-2008
CPW 2 - 2 Team Kawan Yusof
Venue: Pei Hwa Secondary School
Man-of-the-Match: Ellyas
Players turn up : Azmi, Yazid, Din, Yusof, Asyraf, Noman, Ridzwan, M. Hafiz, Abdul, Remi, Ellyas.

As it was a 5pm game, CPW have only 11 players down for the game. Some of the players could not turn up due to NS commitments. The game started with CPW only have 10 players as Din was abit late as he went to the wrong venue. An indirect free kick was given to the opponent as Azmi, the CPW keeper replacement handled the ball after a throw-in. But the opponent did not came up with anything special as their shot was blocked by CPW strong wall. Then, CPW got themself an indirect free-kick as the opponent keeper handled the ball after their defender passes the ball to its keeper. Remi pass the ball to M. Hafiz before he struck it pass the wall to give CPW the lead. 1-0 for CPW as the game ended. The second half started slow for CPW. Most of their players did not move around to find space due to lack of stamina. As CPW only have 11 men, no substitution can take place. After 10 minutes, 2 quick goal from the opponent after they beat the CPW offside trap twice give them the lead. CPW were down by 1 goal. Suddenly, CPW was awarded a free-kick. Remi sends it to the back post before Abdul volleys the ball. But the keeper was lucky to have save the ball as his positioning help him block the shot. As all hope were lost for the CPW players, Ellyas provided the lifeline. A through ball from Remi sends Ellyas going 1-on-1 with the keeper. He did not let the team down by placing the ball to the bottom left side of the goalpost. 2-2 now the score. That goal awarded him the man-of-the-match for the game. Also thanks to Asyraf and Yazid for playing brilliantly on both sides of the fullbacks although they show signs that they are tired. Their never give up attitude helps CPW to tighten the defence with Yusof commanding the back four. Lucky break for CPW as they still continue their unbeaten run.
